Implicit Content Detection
Concept
Most valuable insights in conversations are not stated explicitly. The system must recognize patterns that imply ideas, decisions, or philosophies.
Detection Patterns
Problem-to-Idea Conversion
- “The issue is we don’t have X” → Feature idea: Build X
- “It’s frustrating when Y happens” → Feature idea: Prevent Y
- “Users keep asking about Z” → Feature idea: Surface Z
Aside-to-Philosophy Extraction
- “We always say…” → Team philosophy
- “That’s just how we work” → Working principle
- “Our gut tells us…” → Implicit framework
Non-Decision Detection
- “Let’s not wait for…” → Decision made (to proceed)
- “We’re not going to…” → Decision made (scope exclusion)
- “Maybe later” → Decision made (deprioritization)
Tacit Knowledge Capture
Conversations naturally externalize tacit knowledge because:
- You explain your reasoning path
- You voice uncertainties
- You mention alternatives you considered
- You respond to another person’s context
Why This Matters
Tacit knowledge is “hard to articulate because it lives in your head as intuition.” Transcripts help externalize what you didn’t know you were doing.
